Terms of Service

By creating an account or using redactcv (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

For users in the United Kingdom: nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable UK law, including the UK GDPR and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For users in Australia: nothing in these terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded by contract.

redactcv is a tool that rewrites candidate CVs to remove or paraphrase identifying information — names, employer names, educational institutions, contact details, and other data that could allow a client to identify and directly contact the candidate.

The Service produces anonymised output intended to reduce reverse-identification risk. It does not guarantee that all identifying information will be removed in every case. You are responsible for reviewing output before sending it to clients.

You may use redactcv to:

• — Anonymise candidate CVs for legitimate recruitment agency purposes
• — Generate speculative candidate profiles for client outreach (Job Ad CV feature)

You may not use redactcv to:

• — Process CVs for which you do not have appropriate consent from the candidate
• — Attempt to deceive clients about a candidate’s qualifications, experience, or identity beyond legitimate anonymisation
• — Systematically extract or scrape data from the Service
• — Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy the Service
• — Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate consent and legal basis to process candidate personal data through the Service. In most recruitment contexts this will be covered by your existing candidate consent or legitimate interest basis — but you should satisfy yourself this is the case for your jurisdiction.

redactcv processes CV content solely to provide the anonymisation service. We do not retain CV content after processing.

The Service operates on a credit system. Each anonymisation or Job Ad CV generation consumes one credit from your plan balance.

• — Credits are allocated at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.
• — Organisation credits are shared across all members of that organisation.
• — Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
• — You may cancel at any time. No refunds are issued for unused credits in the current billing period.
• — We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice to existing subscribers.

New accounts receive a limited number of free credits with no credit card required. Free trial credits are for evaluation purposes only and may not be used for commercial production processing at scale. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the free tier.

redactcv and its underlying technology, design, and code are owned by the operator. You retain ownership of all CV content and documents you upload. You grant us a limited, temporary licence to process that content solely to provide the Service.

Anonymised CV output produced by the Service is yours to use as you see fit within these terms.

The Service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that:

• — Every piece of identifying information will be removed from every CV
• — The Service will be available without interruption
• — AI-generated output will be free from errors or hallucinations

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss including loss of revenue, loss of clients, or reputational damage.

You may close your account at any time via the billing settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

On termination, your access to the Service ends immediately. We will delete your account data within 30 days of a written deletion request.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
